Picking Up The Pieces' focus is to help individuals heal, energise, and become aware of their inner strengths. By providing a confidential and safe space, we can support you away from life pressures or responsibilities to others, when you may find it hard to achieve this in your everyday life. Our focus is to help you to make sense of your experience and help you to find ways to get to where you want to be right now.
Picking up The Pieces in Plymouth serves the local community, Devon, and Cornwall face to face and on-line. We offer a 30-minute consultation free of charge to assess your needs and find out if our services are suitable for you.

Now working in collaboration with The Knapman Family providing bereavement support in Plymouth to try to remove the taboo about death and dying which can affect our emotional and psychological well-being and remove the stigmas associated with mental health.

We make therapy more accessible to those with health issues, treatment difficulties or caring responsibilities.
Maybe unexpected events in life have been thrown at you. Your life has just imploded in being given a cancer, degenerative or terminal diagnosis or have been struggling consistently with ill health or in finding yourself adopting a caring role for a loved one. Picking Up The Pieces provides a confidential, safe and caring emotional support service to those facing a cancer journey face-to-face or online. Helping others to access emotional support around health issues, appointments and making therapy more accessible.
We can help you adjust and come to terms by increasing perspectives and adopting coping strategies whatever limitations or difficulties you may be going through. Together we can explore thoughts and feelings around treatment options, work through fears and choices to enhance your physical, emotional or psychological well-being. Perhaps you would like to work through the end of life challenges that you may face. Have control in endings, end of life planning or final arrangements. We can find ways forward and the right way for you.
Support for Carers
Being a carer is extremely hard work. Picking Up The Pieces understands that putting others needs before your own can be stressful, exhausting and frustrating at times. Perhaps you have recently adopted a caring role for a loved one or you may find yourself struggling in loss of self or adjusting to the changes you are going through?
This can make you hesitant reaching out and connecting to others, you may feel others do not understand your situation or feel misunderstood. This can make you hesitant reaching out to others leading to isolation. Picking Up The Pieces is here for you. We understand the struggles faced and difficulties you may be going through.
Picking Up The Pieces promises no matter how stuck or overwhelmed you are in life hurdles or mental health issues, you are no longer alone. You will receive a supportive and confidential service every step of the way in your journey. When you are ready goals can be set to help you grow, work through and resolve difficulties to heal hidden pain.
Sometimes uncomfortable and intense emotions like fear and sadness can make us feel overwhelmed, anxious, panicky or depressed.
Our confidence can be shattered making us feel trapped or completely alone until it passes. But occasionally when hidden issues are left unresolved, intense feelings linger or refuse to go away. One in four of us can experience Mental Health issues at any time in our life.
Picking Up The Pieces provides emotional and psychological support for adults and adolescents who are experiencing anxiety or depression along with those experiencing a variety of mental health difficulties to various degrees.
