We help children whose needs are severe enough to require specialist support in order to make progress with their speech, language and communication and with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

Our centre was last accredited at Specialist level by I CAN, the national charity for children with communication difficulties, in 2013 and continues to operate independently as a model of excellent Early Years practice in supporting young children with DLD. It is staffed by highly skilled and experienced staff comprising of Specialist Teachers, a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, a Specialist Teaching Assistant and a Specialist Support Worker.

Children are allocated a place via a termly Admissions Panel. Children can be referred to the Admissions Panel by their child's Speech and Language Therapist and Educational Psychologist or Advisory Teacher for children with Additional Needs (ATAN).

The staff are skilled to employ a range strategies to support the children's learning such as Makaton signing, cued articulation, visual aids and props and the children's curriculum is adapted to meet each child's individual speech, language and communication needs. A great emphasis is also placed on each child's uniqueness and on nurturing their personal, social and emotional development, building their self-confidence and self-esteem and celebrating personal successes.
