Jeremiah's Journey is a charity for grieving children, young people and their families.
We offer support to children and their families who live in Plymouth or the immediate surrounding area who have experienced the death of someone significant or is experiencing the anticipated death of a family member due to terminal illness.
The main part of our service is to run a short term therapeutic group programme. However, we like to meet with our families initially to ensure that we are able to meet their needs and to discuss different support options.
Our Jeremiah's Friend's group is for children and families when someone in their life has died. We do lots of fun activities that help us think about our feelings, happy and not so good memories and how we can help ourselves feel better.
We do this with things like sand jars, memory boxes and coping bags!
Families attend our Stepping Stones group when someone in their life is very poorly and is dying. There are the Stepping Stones sessions that the whole family can come and build memories together.
They do this through fun activities at the Plymouth College or Art or in fun places like Apple, or The Bear Factory.
Stepping Stones meet every two weeks and your family can come along when you have met someone from Jeremiah's Journey.
Sometimes when a young person needs some extra support outside of one of our groups or finds it difficult to attend a group then someone from Jeremiah's Journey can come and see you in school or at home. During 1-1 sessions, you will have the same Jeremiah's Journey worker every time and it will be focused around what you're feeling and how you're doing. You can do a bit of talking or maybe some activities.
