Whitleigh Primary School is a modern building; part of the Sir John Hunt School Federation in the heart of Whitleigh, Plymouth. The school is located in the Wood View Learning Community, which also includes Sir John Hunt Community Sports College and Woodlands Special School, as well other community services such as the Youth Centre.
We are a happy, creative school where all children belong. Visitors always comment on the calm, purposeful atmosphere at Whitleigh. Our children are eager to learn and their behaviour and attitudes clearly reflect our three key values of respect, resilience and responsibility.
Sitting alongside our commitment to pupil welfare is a constant and relentless focus on the progress of each and every child in the school. We consider ourselves a family. We foster strong relationships between pupils and staff and our children create long-lasting relationships with their peers.

At Whitleigh Community Primary School we are committed to providing an appropriate and high quality education to all our children. We believe that all children, including those identified as having special educational needs, have a common entitlement to be fully included in all aspects of school life. We believe that all children should be equally valued at school and aim to develop an environment where all children can flourish and feel safe.
We have a robust programme of pastoral support. We are a THRIVE school and we aim to support the emotional and social development of all our children, so that they able to fully engage in learning.
We greatly value and appreciate the input of our parents and support they give to their child's education. We aim to work alongside parents to maximise this support to achieve the best possible outcomes for their children.
