Millbay Academy is an all-through school in Plymouth's Coastal Quarter. This is a place where everyone is important and where every moment counts.

Millbay Academy is part of the Reach South family of schools. Reach South Academy Trust exists to provide schools that serve their local community, offering parents and guardians access to the highest quality of local schools for their children.

Our ethos and values underpin all that we do. At Millbay Academy we provide a stimulating learning environment where children feel safe, happy, and consequently thrive.

Our vision is clear: challenging academic and personal goals are set for every member of the Millbay Academy community, and we provide the support and encouragement required to reach them. We will do whatever it takes.

Our curriculum is relevant to our pupils' current needs and future aspirations. It focuses on the core subjects, on the humanities and languages, and on developing competence in and love of the arts. Fostering independence, problem-solving and creative thinking underpins our pedagogical approach.

Wider curriculum opportunities are equally important and this includes our vision for all children to explore and be curious about themselves and the world around them.

We are passionate advocates of all-through education. Through this, we are able to serve our community and families, ensuring an excellent educational experience with continuity and progression. All-through education offers many unique opportunities, including shared experiences, powerful role models, and the in-depth knowledge of subject specialists.

If you would like to find out more about our school please do come and visit us and talk to as many pupils and staff as you can. We are very much looking forward to meeting you.

Our children are wonderful ambassadors, so if you would like to know more about our school family then please contact the school and our children would be delighted to show you around and introduce you to everyone who makes Millbay Academy such a special place.

We make memories at Millbay Academy - and they are happy ones. Happy children make good learners!

All students should have access to a broad and balanced curriculum. The National Curriculum Inclusion Statement states that teachers should set high expectations for every student, whatever their prior attainment. Teachers should use appropriate assessments to set targets that are deliberately ambitious. Potential areas of difficulty should be identified and addressed at the outset. Lessons should be planned to address potential areas of difficulty and to remove barriers to student achievement. In many cases, such planning will mean that students with SEND and disabilities will be able to study the full national curriculum.
