Mount Wise Primary is part of the Learning Academy Trust. We work in partnership with 7 other schools across Plymouth. We are a Community Primary school and strive to work closely with all members of the community to provide an inclusive, positive learning environment where children can be successful.
Mount Wise Primary School is made up of 3 different buildings. We have a self contained Early Years unit, which provides Nursery spaces for children from the age of 2, and an open plan Foundation Stage class offering an enabling environment for our children to learn through play through the Foundation Stage Curriculum. This area is surrounded by a secure outdoor play area which is used daily, in all weathers, as part of their learning experience.
The Key Stage 1 building for Years 1 and 2 is a self contained space with an adjoining outdoor playground with access to a community playpark. Key Stage 2 are in the original main school building with use of the main playground and field for use for play and lunchtimes and PE lessons. All pupils have access to the School hall for their lunch and indoors PE sessions.
The school has an extended day policy and has many after school learning opportunities and breakfast and after school club.

At Mount Wise Community Primary School we embrace the fact that every child is different, and therefore, the educational needs of every child are different. Our SEND pupils are supported by a team of dedicated Teachers, Teaching Assistants and our experienced SENCo. We aim to create a safe, secure, stimulating learning environment in which all members of the school community can develop to their full potential. Staff regularly attend training to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge to support all pupils but especially those with SEND. The school works closely with Specialist Support agencies to assist with the specific needs of pupils. Families can also be supported by our Parent Support Advisor.
