We're a local charity working in the community to support older people, their families and carers. We want everyone to be able to love later life.

We offer a range of services to help older people feel more included in the community. Our current aim is to try and tackle loneliness in the Plymouth area through numerous activities and one off events

Hospital Discharge Service

Our Discharge Service exists solely to support the journey to independence by offering a high-quality, flexible and free short term service tailored to suit individual needs and aspirations. 

Home Energy Checks

Age UK Plymouth can offer free Home Energy Checks to people over the age of 65 who are finding it difficult to keep their homes warm or are suffering from cold-related ill health.

Wellbeing Hub

The Mount Gould Wellbeing Hub located at Age UK Plymouth's William and Patricia Venton Centre is part of Plymouth's wider network of Wellbeing Hubs.

Dementia Day Centre

For those with memory loss or dementia we provide a specialist day care service providing meaningful, varied and personalised activities.

Adult Day Centre

We operate a day care service offering those aged 50+ within the Plymouth area an enjoyable and friendly atmosphere to socially engage.

We provide a safe, enriching, social setting for over 50s where guests can feel supported in their needs.

Information & Advice

Age UK Plymouth can provide you with free, independent and confidential information and advice on a range of issues relating to those age 50+. This includes information on rights and entitlements, local services and support available.

Help at Home Community Support Service

Help at Home Community Support Service offers a high-quality, flexible service to people aged 50+ living in and around the City of Plymouth.

Gardening and Handyperson

We have, within our Help at Home team, a Gardening and Handyperson team who can help with small jobs around your home or even garden.

Dementia Awareness Training

Age UK Plymouth are offering free training and information for your group or organisation. Tammy Walker our Training and Wellbeing Dementia Lead, has a vast experience of supporting people living with dementia.

Phone Friend Service

Reaching out to those most vulnerable across the city experiencing loneliness and/or isolation, our Phone Friend Service can match an individual with one of our friendly volunteers. Calls enable our clients the comfort of a regular check in.

Hairdressing

Stylist Lyn has worked in hairdressing for over 30 years.

With clients aged from 1 to 100, Lyn has experience working with people with mobility issues, long term illness and those living with dementia.
