We have Mental Health Support Worker's who are able to meet with clients and support them in accessing the Advice Plymouth and Information and Advice services. There are Drop-In service's at Crossroads and the Endeavour Block in HMS Drake. We also work closely with the Memory Service at Mount Gould and with the local Alzheimer society and visit the Glenbourne Unit.

Some of the issues we can support with are:

  • Benefits
  • Housing
  • Consumer Issues
  • Employment
  • Social Care

Patients can be visited whilst in hospital or when discharged from hospital care. Help can be given with completing application forms and assessing patients entitlement to disability benefits.

Information and Advice also provides a benefits and general advice service to people, adults and children with Cystic Fibrosis at Derriford Hospital. This surgery approach continues to be a model of good practice for patients with long term conditions which could easily be extended to other patient groups.
