Dystonia Plymouth Support Group
Dystonia is the term used to describe uncontrollable and sometimes painful muscle spasms caused by incorrect signals from the brain.
Dystonia is a neurological movement disorder. Faulty signals from the brain cause muscles to spasm and pull on the body incorrectly. This forces the body into twisting, repetitive movements or abnormal postures. Sometimes the symptoms are accompanied by dystonic tremor.
Plymouth Dystonia Support Group meet at Elburton Village Hall once a month from 11am till 1pm. The meetings are an opportunity to meet others affected by dystonia in a local venue on a regular basis, and to share experiences, tips and ideas.
The Dystonia Society is the only national charity providing support, advocacy and information for anyone affected by the neurological movement condition known as dystonia
