Dementia Action Week

Working To Become Dementia Friendly Logo

A Virtual Cognitive Stimulation Therapy Taster Session and  Scams Awareness Sessions are just two of the many events taking place during this year's National Dementia Action Week (17- 23 May).

This year's theme is #CureTheCareSystem. Covid-19 has exacerbated the challenges people living with dementia have already been facing so this year is a call for meaningful change to enable people to live a life with meaning, purpose and connection.

Organisations such as Plymouth City Council, Livewell Southwest and Memory Matters SW etc are taking part in activities throughout the week to raise awareness of dementia and to encourage individuals and organisations to take action that will make everyday life better for people affected by dementia.

This events programme has been coordinated by Claire Puckey (Dementia Friendly City Coordinator, Plymouth City Council) and Ian Sherriff B.E.M. (Academic Partnership Lead for Dementia, University of Plymouth and Chair, Plymouth Dementia Action Alliance).

All events are open to the Public and are FREE.
