Breathe Outdoors

We are a Outdoor Learning provider specialising in personal development, mental and physical health.

Breathe Outdoors provides an integrative approach to outdoor learning and wellbeing. We successfully support young people, aged from 7 to 25, with anxiety, depression, social, emotional and behavioural differences, low self-esteem, confidence, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and attention deficit disorder and some cases of Autism. However, these programmes are not exclusive to these differences and we aim to offer support to all within our qualifications and experience.

The programmes we offer are active, adventurous, nature based, experiential, reflective and discussion focused and can be adapted to suit any educational setting or available outdoor environments. A Forest School style approach and activities feature heavily in our programmes which run on a school site, however, we also integrate recognised outdoor learning theories and mindfulness practices. Our offsite programmes include such activities as indoor climbing, mountain biking, forest schools and navigation.

Young people are at the heart of any work we do. Breathe Outdoors facilitators are ready to listen and tune into the young person's needs and adapt sessions and programmes accordingly.

Our lead practitioner at Breathe Outdoors is Kate Ryley. She is an experienced outdoor adventurous practitioner, mindfulness coach and Trauma and Mental Health Informed practitioner.

Kate has completed The Headstart practitioner training and Diploma in Trauma and Mental Health- Informed Schools which is delivered by the Institute for the ARTS in Therapy and Education (IATE) in association with the Centre for Child Mental Health London and Trauma-Informed Schools UK.

Please get in touch if you would like more information or to refer a Young Person onto our programmes.

We travel to you. We have no fixed base as the outdoors is our venue. We typically meet clients at a chosen outdoor location for example the beach or the moors. With young people we arrange this element with their educational setting, family or carer.
