The Stroke Association
The Stroke Association is the only charity working across the UK to prevent strokes and help people of all ages to cope with the aftermath of stroke, their families and carers.
A stroke is a brain attack. It happens when the blood supply to part of your brain is cut off.
Blood carries essential nutrients and oxygen to your brain. Without blood your brain cells can be damaged or die.
This damage can have different effects, depending on where it happens in your brain.
Our Stroke Recovery Service offer advice, information and emotional support to those who have suffered a stroke, and to their family members or carers.
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
