Our Abbeyfield House in Hartley, Plymouth provides our residents the privacy of their own accommodation combined with the companionship of others, home cooked meals, and the security and support of the dedicated house staff.
This house consists of one first floor flat with separate lounge, kitchenette and bathroom, two x 2 room units with en-suite facilities and four studio flats. All rooms are unfurnished, so that you can bring your own furniture, making it a home from home.
The on site house manager ensures that the house is warm, comfortable and safe and that the daily meals provided are varied, nutritious and enjoyable!
Each resident has their own room with ensuite facilities, 24 hour call alarm system supplied and specialist facilities such as assisted baths and lifts.
Life at at the house
All the houses organise a number of social activities for residents, and volunteers organise trips out for those who wish to go.
There are monthly coffee mornings and quizzes, weekly arm chair exercises and bingo as well as regular trips to Abbeyfield Burtons in Plymstock for entertainment.
Our aim is to offer entertaining and involved activities and services for residents who wish to participate in them, and to offer a consistent supported environment to allow our elderly guests to feel safe and looked after.
The sheltered homes all have a house keeper who provides two meals a day, and we provide breakfast items such as cereals, milk and bread for residents to prepare their own breakfast in their individual in-room kitchen. Coupled with this all lunch and high tea meals are fully catered for with great food prepared on-site for residents to enjoy in the communal dining room areas.
