31 bed Mixed Gender Service for detoxification or stabilisation
Broadreach offers Detoxification/first stage treatment, along with a specialist 12 week programme for clients with serious physical or mental health issues who are better served by a facility that offers nursing. The programmes at Broadreach are available to both men and women.
The holistic programme is delivered in a safe drug and alcohol free environment. Our primary treatment includes assisted withdrawal/detox from alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines and other drugs. Stabilisation programmes are also offered subject to discussion with us. Our team of doctors and nurses will explain your detox/stabilisation regime to you and our very experienced nurses and support workers will offer support and reassurance at every stage of the process. Our mixed gender treatment facility allows continued support to address issues in a longer term setting, and which also allows clients to prepare to return to the community drug and alcohol free.
During your treatment you will also work with counsellors, both individually and in groups, on understanding your alcohol or drug use, strengthening your motivation and building your confidence to change. Your allocated Counsellor will work with you on your individualised treatment plan and help you create goals for during and after treatment.
There are 20 single rooms, mostly en-suite, and 5 double occupancy rooms which are en-suite. Group rooms, lounge and games room.
The established treatment programmes continue to evolve with additional support offered in the following three areas: Education, such as literacy, budgeting and support with managing finances; Health workshops, including amongst others BBV awareness and basic life support training; and Social workshops offering help with managing anxiety, stress and anger. Alongside this the existing relapse prevention programme, focuses on the skills a client needs to manage and sustain their recovery in the community and the support available to aid this. During the evening you will have access to a range of fun activities and you may also attend gym sessions in the fitness suite at our day service. Longer term clients are also encouraged to make use of the day service where a number of certificated educational courses are run.
The emphasis throughout treatment is on supporting you in building or rebuilding a life about which you can feel happy and proud. Our aim is for you to leave Broadreach having improved your overall health and sense of well-being, free from alcohol and/or illicit drug use, with the knowledge, understanding and skills to you may need to sustain progress and achieve your own identified goals.
