Kingdom Supported Living (KSL) is a supported accommodation service situated in the heart of Plymouth, providing flexible and individually tailored support to people in a family supported living environment. Our overall work is centred on interventions that improve each person’s ability to function in the community whilst taking responsibility for themselves and others; and supporting people to maintain their current links within the Plymouth area and as well make new links.
The philosophy of our care and support services work emphasises common sense, practical needs, person development and re-enablement.
We aim to provide good quality care and support services that promote a way of life for service users which permits them to enjoy to the greatest possible extent, their rights as individual human beings in the community.
The team at KSL provides services to people with mild to moderate learning disabilities and associated physical and mental health related conditions; clients with forensic history, substance misuse and challenging behaviour.
The staff support is structured to meet individual requirements. Community participation and involvement is actively encouraged through person centred planning and positive risk assessment to meet individual goals and aspirations which keep the person safe and happy.
We provide services to service users who need support with life skills training, assistance with benefits / bills, accessing professional help and liaison with other agencies, and with personal care.
Our 24 hr. accommodation has staff on- site all day, with sleep – in staff available during the night. This safe environment encourages and promotes people to gain confidence in their lives and promotes decision making and choice through a person centred approach, which is individualised and depending on the specific needs of each person.
About the Property
Kingdom Supported Living (KSL) is a semi- detached house located in a residential area on a major bus route of easy access to the city centre which is within one mile. The property consists of five bedrooms with two of the bedrooms having an en- suite facility and is over two storeys with a basement. It has a communal lounge, large fully equipped kitchen/diner, and rear enclosed patio area. The rear garden is well tended and is laid out with a paved area, smoking shelter and a raised gravel bed. There is access to wireless internet connection and each room equipped with television .
Currently there are three male tenants in the house with vacancies of two rooms (en-suite and a room with shared bathroom facilities).
The house is situated close to the local amenities, including GP's, Dentists, Post office, Churches, Plymouth life centre, Plymouth Argyle football ground and a range of social and leisure activities.
