The Minor Injury Unit at the Cumberland Centre is open every day to treat you if you have an injury which isn’t life-threatening, but still requires urgent treatment.
Our team of nurse practitioners have undertaken specialist training and are able to assess, diagnose and treat patients of all ages (we also have x-ray facilities).
Examples of the problems we can see you for include:
- Cuts - we can use glue, steristrips (paper stitches) or sutures to close wounds
- Small burns or scalds
- Bites and stings
- Sprains and certain fractures (upper and lower limbs)
- Minor head injuries
- Infected wounds
- Foreign bodies in eyes
You don’t need to pre-book an appointment, just drop-in to the unit between 08:30 and 21:00. On-site parking is free.
We do recommend that if you require telephone advice that you contact NHS Direct on 111.
