Seedlings Pre-School

Seedlings is a “not for profit” community based pre-school which operates out of a purpose developed setting within Dunstone Community Primary School.

There is excellent safe and security entry to the setting. We have an all weather covered outside decking area and a further outside area incorporating a paved patio for play and a grassed area for the climbing frame and gardening.

There is a "free flow" operation; this enables the children to have constant access to the outdoors. Seedlings is positioned towards the back of the school playground, directly in front of the school woods.

A trained member of staff leads the daily Forest School activities, available to all children.

We offer affordable term time education and quality child care for children aged between 2 – 4 years.

Our sessional opening hours are Monday to Thursday, 7.45 am to 6 pm and Friday, 7.45 am to 5.30 pm.

There is also a "before & after school club", this is operated by Dunstone primary school,  from  Staff are highly qualified, with continuing professional development.

Seedlings is within the site of Dunstone Primary school, and the Plymstock Children's centre. There is a Little Seedlings toddler group (0-5 years) who meet on a Thursday morning; this is run in conjunction with the Plymstock Children's centre, sharing staff, planning and resources.

The children have a weekly foreign language lesson, at present this is Spanish. This is led by Becky at kidslingo, Highly Commended in the category of Most Outstanding Activity Leader for the Under 5s (South) 2017.

There is liaison, with Dunstone primary school, with integration between the children of the Foundation class and the school leavers of Seedlings.
