Back in 2005, when Blue Sky was established by Simon and colleague, Jonathan, the vision was of a fostering agency with a difference, offering foster carers quality training, flexible support and camaraderie. By providing our foster carers with these solid foundations and giving them confidence in their ability, Simon and Jonathan knew we would ensure the best possible outcomes for vulnerable children and young people in our care.
Since then, from a modest office in the heart of Hampshire’s New Forest, Blue Sky has developed and matured into one of the south’s leading independent foster care providers. Covering a region from Kent to Cornwall and up to the Cotswolds. Our local ‘hubs’ provide easily accessible support, training and meeting venues for all our foster carers, their families, and the children and young people living with them.
Why choose Blue Sky?
Alongside the generous foster carer allowance, paid respite and a comprehensive on-call system, we invest in our carers, their families and our staff. We know training is of the utmost importance in ensuring everyone receives and delivers the best possible care. We offer training to foster carers, their own children, foster children and staff. In addition to this, we are very proud to say we were the first independent fostering provider in England to be awarded the licence to provide the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
We’re accredited as a ‘Preferred Provider’ with over 20 Local Authorities in the South of England and that means we’re amongst the first to hear about children and young people in need of a foster home. Being accredited by local authorities is immensely important to us as it means they trust us and in fostering, trust is vital.
