Skills Launchpad Plymouth - our city's new FREE one-stop skills response service

Working in city wide partnership, Skills Launchpad Plymouth offers a virtual one-stop-shop FREE skills service to help our people equip themselves with the skills and confidence they will need to play a part in our city's future, supporting those who are facing redundancy through the new Adult Hub, and offering targeted support for our young people through the new Youth Hub

Whatever your age or circumstance, either through our Adult Hub or Youth Hub, we will:

  • Take you on a skills journey to share the latest employment picture of Plymouth to inform your choices.
  • Provide impartial information, advice and guidance on accessing all available opportunities including support for creating your own careers and skills action plan.
  • Help you to become work ready and equipped with the right skills needed to fill Plymouth's jobs right now and in the future.
  • By working closely with our local employers and training providers, we will help match you to real opportunities for pathways into employment, apprenticeships and traineeships, work experience, training, education, volunteering and self-employment.

Alongside delivering this new virtual service, we also have plans to have a physical space. Subject to Covid-19 compliance and government guidelines, we hope to host events in our local communities where you will be able to come along and find out more, and provide a Launchpad home somewhere central where you will be able to pop in for a chat. Keep a look out for future updates.

Skills Launchpad Plymouth will be continuously developed as the go to place for local skills support, providing orientation and up to date real-time job market intelligence so that local people can stay informed about the real employment opportunities today and in the future.

The service will also offer comprehensive impartial information, advice and guidance, in order to match opportunities to pathways into education, training, apprenticeships, employment, work experience, volunteering and self-employment.
