Digitising Social Care Survey

As part of the National Digitising Social Care (DiSC) Programme the One Devon project team, are looking for all CQC registered Providers to complete the survey linked below.  The survey results will enable us to understand the current market position and how, with potential match funding, we can best coproduce a plan to work together to deliver the DiSC programme in Devon.

What is DiSC?

• The DiSC programme has come from the People at the Heart of Care white paper which recognised that when technology is embedded seamlessly into care and support services, it can help people to live happy, fulfilled lives in their homes and communities.
• There are a number of criteria set including targets for Digital Social Care Records being in place and for the use of Sensor-Based Fall Technology.
• The One Devon DiSC team are developing the local programme with representatives from all three local authorities (Plymouth, Torbay and Devon) and representative Care Providers  along with Health partners.

What benefits are there for me as a social care Provider?

• Potential match funding to support Providers to adopt Digital Social Care Records and sensor-based fall technology.
• Providers who have already introduced new technologies to their organisation have benefited from this supporting high quality and safe care, improving efficiency and freeing up precious time with people by reducing administrative tasks.

Developing collaboration and designing how the fund is used

There is funding over a period of three years for this programme if you as providers wish to access it.  There are some criteria and we're going to be supporting the development and design work to help you get the most out of it.  To do that we need some information to start with.

Having got the data we'll be sharing the information that comes out of it with you and working on the next steps together, creating a scope of the implementation plan and approach enabling us to co-create the DiSC programme in Devon in a way that makes sense for Devon Providers, making the best use of any potential match funding available.

• We'll share a summary of the feedback with you, so as well as supporting the development of the Devon ICS plan, all providers can benefit from understanding the barriers to adoption, and benefits experienced by those who have introduced digital technologies.
• We don't see this as a one-off project, but the start of a period of co-creation.

Working with care provider, we have designed a baseline online survey, to understand:

• the current picture of Devon's CQC registered Providers against the DiSC targets
• Where Providers haven't adopted Digital Social Care Records and sensor-based fall technology; what are the barriers?
• Where Providers have adopted Digital Social Care Records and sensor-based fall technology; what can we learn?
