We will accept new referrals from the local community, hospital, Plymouth City Council, Continuing Health Care and Cornwall County Council. We will also accept referrals from out of county.
We aim to provide a responsive service by the way of ensuring that each service user receives a person centered approach and a personalized care package which will be regularly reviewed to ensure that the service we are providing is consistent.
All service users will be encouraged to be involved in making decisions about their care from the offset if they have the capacity to do so. If not then we will involve the families where possible and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure we maintain good working relationships to ensure we meet their care needs. We will support the individuals to have access to ongoing health care and support.
We encourage all of our service users to access and participate in community activities and enabling them to maintain and build good relations within the community. A local group called "active for life" promote team building activities on a day to day basis and all of our service users will be given the opportunity to attend. There are also disco's 3 times a week and a drop in service twice a week which we can assist them to attend if they wish.
Our home is a safe and caring environment which the service users can call home. We ensure their safety by way of having well trained staff who have the right knowledge and skills to be able to protect them from harm. We have a very robust recruitment process which our service users are a part of. All of our staff receive mandatory training and an induction as well as completing the care certificate and have an enhanced DBS check prior to employment along with two references.
We have the right equipment to manage their individual needs effectively and have ensured any adaptations in the home have been carried out. When moving in to Laburnum Lodge the service users will be given the choice of décor for their room so they can make it personalized. It is our aim to provide a homely atmosphere and therefore personal belongings are welcome and encouraged to help create this feel.
Our service strives to ensure that we have an open house policy by the way of ensuring family, friends and visitors are welcomed and accommodated and their privacy promoted.
